- My husband got laid off.
- My husband and I got into a car accident which totalled his van.
- My office moved.
- My son graduated from high school.
- My son moved out of the house to go to college.
- My son got a boyfriend.
- My son dropped out of college.
- I got diagnosed as Pre-diabetic.
- My husband got diagnosed as diabetic.
- My 7-years younger brother had a heart attack at the age of 38.
- My husband got a job which required he travel thousands of miles every week and not be home for almost three months.
- I took cake decorating classes to cope with the free time and lack of people in the house.
- I started taking guitar lessons. Less sugar to deal with.
- My husband got a local job that pays WAY better than the one he got laid off from three years ago.
And that's been pretty much my life. Stress eat? HELL YEAH! Gain weight? A little. I'm closer to 300 pounds than to 200 at this point. But you, my dear readers, will be part of my accountability to get back into the swing of things, get my butt to the gym and get my food under control. It's an ongoing process. It's not gonna get fixed overnight. But I can still take it day by day, much like my sobriety, and win in the end. I've been sober over 7 years now. I can get healthier and get off the medications.
Currently I am taking the following meds:
- Metformin XR, 750 mg 1x daily
- Levothyroxine, 75 mcg 6x per week
- Singular, 20 mg 1x daily
- Simvastatin, 40 mg 1x daily
- Furosemide, not sure of dosage, 1x daily
- clonazepam, 1 mg, 1x daily as needed for anxiety
- Zyrtec, 10 mg daily
So that's a sugar pill, a thyroid pill, two allergy pills, a cholesterol pill, a blood pressure pill and an anti-anxiety pill. I can't do much about the thyroid or the allergies, but the others I *can* do something about. So here I am. I'll try to be better about posting, too. After all, this is part of my plan to get healthier.
